The Centre Pompidou and the Vasarely Fondation are confidently continuing the fruitful and constructive collaboration they began in 2019.
The Fondation Vasarely is therefore very pleased to offer a new exhibition based on works belonging to the Centre Pompidou‘s precious collections, which will enable visitors to discover a little more about the knowledge and importance of Victor Vasarely‘s work in the art of the second half of the 20th century, which manifest themselves beyond the borders of France, his adopted country, and the North American scene, through the influence he has had on artists from Central and Eastern Europe, where he was originally from, and from South America, who have settled in Paris and worked in his movement.
The Musée national d’art moderne – Centre Pompidou ( the National Museum of Modern d’art ) has thus enabled us to extract from its collections and reserves works that have never been shown together.
Michel Gauthier, curator of the exhibition and curator at the National Museum of Modern d’art, has chosen to show this artistic current developed around the Father of Op art through 24 works by 20 emblematic artists.
A proposition by the Fondation Vasarely in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou.
