In Marseille, Out.of.the.blue.map echoes the informal crossings, narratives and movements that shape Mediterranean liminal territories. The exhibition is organised as part of this itinerant curatorial programme, operating from France, Morocco and the Netherlands.
Out.of.the.blue.map focuses on undoing and disrupting the spatial and historic borders that separate Morocco from the European coasts. The exhibition organised in Marseille contemplates their permanent limitation. From this curatorial proposal emerges a plurivocal narrative, which allows to experiment new ways of perceiving and giving meaning to [fluid and solid] borders. The works presented [Yemaya by Saïd Afifi, Diwana by Randa Maroufi, On Driftig, a participative lexicon by Collectif Calypso36°21] evoke a multitude of echoes, and invite us to navigate between the margins, thresholds and blind spots of the established maps.
Proposed and curated by Collectif Calypso36°21, in collaboration with Randa Maroufi and Saïd Afifi.
