The exhibition Local Heroes – Marseille & Berlin intends to stage artistic, urban and architectural cross views between Marseille and Berlin and to illustrate the links between the city and its inhabitants, contemporary creation and everyday life, the colour in the city and in the artists’ studios.
1UP, Moses and Taps, Edward Nightingale, Rap and Hams represent contemporary graffiti artists in Germany and France. The dimensions of graffiti in itself deals with architecture, it’s a hidden, night-time and urban performance, with secret languages and visual images based on conceptions of sociological and psychological identity.
More than just an artistic practise, or a typography, it is also a socio-cultural practice resulting in a theatrical appropriation of the city. As an echo to these “Local Heroes”, a selection of works by workshop artists is presented, such as Klasen, Hains, Villeglé, Penck, Rousse, Klemensiewicz, Jonas, Baquié, Delbès…
The Museum Regards de Provence reopens its doors on the 19th of December. Don’t miss this occasion to see the exhibition Local Heroes, on display until the 7th of February 2021!
