¡Viva Villa! – Festival of artists’ residencies by the Académie de France in Rome Villa Medici, the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid and Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto, takes place in the Collection Lambert (Avignon, France) for the second year in a row. Created in 2016 with the ambition to showcase in France the works of artists who have completed a creative or research residency in these French institutions abroad, the festival offers them a generational and professional platform committed to a post-residency strategy.
For its 5th edition, the festival ¡Viva Villa! has been thought of as an opportunity for these artists – architects, painters, composers, designers, filmmakers, visual artists, writers, craftsmen, choreographers, stage directors… – to present to the public the current concerns of humankind into the worlds that are surrounding them.
