Discover the sound programme in collaboration with Radio Grenouille from the 29th of August until the 9th of October 2020, part of the public programme of Traits d’union.s.

For the last Listening Session, Radio Grenouille and Manifesta 13 Marseille will present a new project by artist Ymane Fakhir. Here, she develops a work halfway between performance and sound creation. In her contribution to the biennial’s central programme Traits d’union.s, she also presents photographs that explore the question of rituals, justice and the public-private dichotomy, which is inevitably dictated by social norms. In recent years, Ymane Fakhir has also worked on short films and larger installations.

Part of the public programme and in collaboration with Radio Grenouille, the Listening Sessions feature sound performances that will take place at different venues during the biennial. Two of them also include an artist residency. Radio Grenouille has conceived collective listening experiences that introduce the audience to the principles of listening. Collective listening places sound at the centre of a social moment, reactivating and sharing speech.
