Le Tiers Programme, Manifesta 13’s Education & Mediation programme presented two projects to the public during the biennial: the Invisible Archives and GROUP-THINK.
The Invisible Archives started before the opening of the biennial, in December 2019, and inhabited the Tiers QG in sequence of eight exhibitions and public programmes until October 2020. Selected archives of local civil initiatives were used as departure points for artists who together with the associations created the exhibitions. The GROUP-THINK project was developed by Danish artist Stine Marie Jacobsen with schools in Marseille. The project, that started in September 2019 resulted in a film screened in a cabin on the rooftop of Coco Velten during the biennial and into a handbook distributed to local schools and for sale online.
